Almost a year ago, it appeared that a restaurant called Maru would open in the former Osushi space at The Westin Copley Place. Now, based on a Craigslist job posting for servers, it seems that the restaurant — now called ShabuMaru — will finally open "soon."
The hotel's website states that the restaurant "will feature a unique hot pot dining experience unlike anywhere else in Back Bay." Also, "summer/fall 2014" is given as an opening date, so "soon" it may be. Licensing information suggests that Jack Huang, who owns two other Japanese restaurants, Basho and Douzo, is involved. He also was a founder of Fugakyu.
