New Tavern with Boston Connections to Open in Belmont

A restaurant that has a partner in common with Boston’s The Merchant will open within Cushing Village in Belmont, reports The Belmont Citizen-Herald. Ownership includes the aforementioned Merchant connection, Kevin Treanor, who is a Belmont resident with various other Boston restaurant connections, and Mark and Tara Gowrie. No word yet whether or not the 5,000 square foot tavern will have much in common with The Merchant, an all-purpose bistro downtown, or what kind of identity it will develop within the largely residential Cushing Village complex.
