Committee, the upcoming restaurant from Cafeteria and Bijou Nightclub owner George Aboujaoude, is scheduled to go before the city’s Licensing Board next week. Committee does not have a website yet but as previously reported will focus on Mediterranean small plates and cocktails. The license appeal mentions space for private dining as well as and outdoor bar and patio area. It will be part of a massive (21,450 square feet) multi-use development that will include a day care center and Starbucks.
The license could come from the Elephant Walk's Beacon Street location, closing to make way for a $16 million apartment complex. The French and Cambodian restaurant has another location in Porter Square and will open a new outpost in the former BoMA space in the South End.
