Former Harvard Square Diner Close to Opening in Waltham

After closing their original location, Leo's Place is now hiring for its new home.

Until it closed its doors for the last time in the spring of 2013, Leo's Place was a breakfast staple on JFK Street in Harvard Square. A classic diner with counter seating only, it was loved by locals and those who have moved away, including actor Ben Affleck, who once raved about it in a segment for Oprah. Now it looks as if the diner has taken one step closer to reopening its new home on Main Street in Waltham.

Last May a Twitter post showed that Leo's Place "of Harvard Square" would be coming to Waltham, and as reported on Boston Restaurant Talk, another picture posted yesterday announced that they are hiring staff. No word yet on when the doors might officially open on Main Street or whether or not Affleck will be among those lining up outside when they do.
