Viale (pronounced vee-AH-lay) opens to the public this Wednesday, October 15, co-owner Greg Reeves tells Eater. He and Mark Young haven't changed too much at the former Rendezvous space — more of a facelift, really. Reeves previously revealed a little bit about the menu:
"We’re calling it green-driven, Mediterranean-inspired. We’re going to have five or six pastas, apps and entrees, a couple of grilled pizzas, kind of Al Forno-inspired, because I think those pizzas are delicious. That kind of puts us in the Mediterranean area. And ingredient-driven. We live in New England, so we might as well use the shellfish and the farms when we can. Use what’s good and around."
To start, Viale's dining room will be open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday and 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, with a late-night bar menu available an hour later. For the first month, the restaurant will be closed on Tuesdays. Keep an eye out for Sunday brunch, possibly starting after the first of the new year.
