If All Men Must Die, It Might As Well Be By Medieval Sausage

Fans of Game of Thrones, beer, and/or sausages should head to The Haven in Jamaica Plain next Tuesday, October 7 at 7 p.m. to celebrate the latest Brewery Ommegang beer release in its Game of Thrones collaboration with HBO: Valar Morghulis. (For the uninitiated, the phrase translates to "all men must die" from one of the languages spoken in the television series and the books that inspire it.)

On Tuesday, The Haven will pair the new beer, an Abbey Dubbel, with "medieval" dishes like boar sausage, Scotch eggs, haggis on toast, and pine spruce shortbread. According to tasting notes on Ommegang's website, the brew has "rich aromas of caramel, toffee, ripe fruits, and burnt sugar, with a hint of cloves." Fire and Blood, a spicy red ale, will also be available on tap.
