Danny Meyer, the CEO of NYC-based Union Square Hospitality Group, which includes Shake Shack, paid a visit to the newly opened Harvard Square location. While in town, Meyer headed out to Needham to eat a "soulful, abundant dinner" at Sweet Basil, a popular Italian spot, where he ordered the chicken parmesan, according to a rep for the restaurant.
Meanwhile, Sweet Basil owner Dave Becker has a second restaurant in the works; the name has not yet been announced, but it will be located in Wellesley and focus on Eastern Mediterranean food (think Lebanese, Greek, and Israeli). According to an article in The Improper Bostonian (not yet available online), it will have 100 seats — twice as many as Sweet Basil — and a full liquor license. (Sweet Basil is BYOB.)
