As rumored back in June, Les Zygomates and Sorriso have indeed been sold, and the deal closed this month, according to Boston Business Journal. Now-former owner Ian Just had just opened Society on High nearby when news broke that he was selling his older restaurants. The new owners of Les Zygomates and Sorriso are Anthony Botta, a veteran of the Las Vegas restaurant industry, and his brother-in-law Mark Tosi, president of Canton-based Italian food importer Pastene.
The BBJ reports that some changes are coming to the menus and the interiors of the restaurants, and Sorriso will eventually get a new name, but Botta and Tosi "hope to preserve what the regulars like most about the two restaurants." Les Zygomates' popular live music program could expand quite soon to include a Sunday jazz brunch, and the wine list could expand as well. Robert Fathman, a Legal Harborside alum, will be executive chef of both restaurants.
