Jamaica Plain residents Matthew Virzi and Andrea Belanger touched a former Kennedy Fried Chicken and turned it to gold — rather, Aurum. The duo — owner and manager, respectively — softly opened the new Centre Street restaurant earlier this month and will celebrate the grand opening tomorrow, January 18th, from 10am to 10pm.
On the menu: "homemade baked goods, soups, and nourishing, healthy meals," along with breakfast all day and fresh juices. The "flagship" product is a line of "pies" with varied fillings wrapped in a "pita-inspired dough." In addition to the food, the space is meant to be "a community gathering place" with art and music.
