Ever since its arrival from New Jersey almost two years ago, The Taco Truck has been promising a brick-and-mortar location for the Boston area. The plans have finally become more definite, it seems. Boston Restaurant Talk notes a Craigslist posting announcing a Cambridge restaurant (no address provided) set to open this summer, plus "multiple" future locations in the Boston market.
The Taco Truck currently has one truck in the area, which frequents the SoWa Market, downtown, and other spots around Boston. The small chain also has trucks and restaurants in New Jersey and New York. While tacos are logically the featured item on the menu, they are complemented by a soup and a salad, a few tortas, and sides like fried plantains, rice, and beans.
UPDATE: According to a Board of Zoning Appeal agenda, The Taco Truck is headed for 83-85 Mt. Auburn St., the soon-to-be-former Felipe's space in Harvard Square. (Felipe's is relocating to the former Bertucci's space nearby.)
