As rumored back in October, a Legal Sea Foods concept does indeed seem to be taking over the (now permanently) shuttered Olives space in Charlestown. Boston.com's Restaurant Hub blog notices a licensing document that indicates a potential liquor license transfer from Olives to a Legal C Bar at the same location.
Fans of alliteration will appreciate Legal C Bar's official description of its offerings: "Classic 'C' fare like clams, cod, crab, calamari as well as custom cocktails provides a contemporary, comfortable experience." There are currently locations in Dedham, Hingham, Lynnfield, and at Logan Airport, and Somerville's Assembly Row will get one too.
UPDATE: Zagat reports that, according to a rep, the restaurant will not actually be a Legal C Bar. It will be a new concept from Legal that does not yet have a name. Rich Vellante, a dual US/Italian citizen, is in as executive chef.
