Redbones' Malden Expansion Is Still in the Works

Malden fans of Somerville's Redbones BBQ needn't worry. The expansion that was announced back in May is still happening, just a little slower than planned. The restaurant answered recent inquiries on Facebook with that they "hope to have the new location open by the beginning of next year but there is no specific date set at this point."

Redbones' Malden location will be on Commercial St., in the former home of the Rosebud Farms grocery store. Like the Davis Square location, it'll have a full bar with a focus on craft beers and small-batch bourbons. They're doing something a little different with the interior: a "picnic table hall." It'll be an open space, complete with "smokers in action," where diners will stand in line to pick their barbecue and then find a seat at a table. There will also be an outdoor beer garden — and a nano-brewery.
