In June of last year, Eater reported on Chicago froyo chain Forever Yogurt's plans to dominate Boston, with six shops planned and three leases signed. In January of this year, we noted the former BerryLine on Newbury St. was slated to become Forever Yogurt's first shop by this past Spring. With summer ending soon, it is apparent little to no work has been done inside the space. The company's website lists the location and one in the Pru as "coming soon," but an official reached at the Pru had no immediate knowledge of an opening date or even a location within the complex. The company has not returned Eater's requests for comment.
Perhaps Boston (or at least the Back Bay) has reached peak froyo? One can only hope. Until then, those craving frozen non-cream-based dairy products near the corner of Hereford and Newbury might have to walk a block or two in basically any fucking direction.
