Dave Arnold, Eater's Cocktail University instructor and bartender/owner at New York's Booker & Dax, nearly burned down Harvard yesterday. Ok, not really, but a malfunction with his puffing gun (a tool used to make puffed cereal) led to a large release of burned rice smoke, setting off alarms and necessitating the evacuation of Harvard's Science Center. Arnold was in town for the school's public science and cooking lecture series, which continues weekly until the end of the year.
