Every year, more than 5,000 cyclists ride one of several one- or two-day routes across Massachusetts for the Pan-Mass Challenge, a giant fundraiser for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. For the third year, a team from Rialto (and more recently, TRADE) completed the race (part of the team is shown above, left). Other local restaurant industry folks take on the challenge as well. Joshua Smith rode for the first time this year and sent in the above photo (right) of himself with PMC founder Billy Starr. Smith (Tico, Sweet Caroline's, Battery Park) is working on opening Moody's Delicatessen and Provisions in Waltham and tells Eater that he has signed the lease and begins construction next week.
