Some 'Ting Nice Restaurant Opening in Somerville

New, 3 comments

Somerville's Winter Hill is getting some new Caribbean food. A long-vacant space on the corner of Pearl St. and McGrath Highway has had signage in the windows promising a Caribbean restaurant for a few weeks now, and a Somerville Licensing Hearing agenda from July reveals the name of the upcoming spot. Some 'Ting Nice Caribbean Restaurant is set to open on August 15th at 561 McGrath Highway, according to the restaurant's Facebook page. ("Feed yo senses," the page also declares.) An album of food photos titled "What is to come at Some 'Ting Nice Caribbean Restaurant" includes dishes like cassava pone, oxtail with rice and peas, pilau, and cow heel soup. The restaurant will be open from 10am to midnight Tuesday through Saturday and 11am to 4pm for Sunday brunch.

UPDATE: General manager Kirk Cambridge-Delpesche has provided Eater with some additional details. The restaurant will offer a "wide range of Caribbean dishes and juices," including "soups and salads" and "chicken lunch specials from $6.99 or for additional $2 get fish, shrimp or steak." Eat in (with table service), take-out, and delivery will all be available, as well as event catering — and the space can be rented for events. There will be valet parking in the back.
