Fans and neighbors of Union Square's Ebi Sushi have teamed together to launch an Indiegogo campaign to help the Somerville Japanese restaurant replace their facade. Campaign organizers feel Ebi's "nondescript brick facade, a cheap plastic sign and dark exterior" might be keeping people away. Blogger Japanese American in Boston, who first noted the campaign, is a big fan of Ebi herself and says it took her a long time to first visit, because "it looked like a dive." The campaign has a goal of $7,000 and rewards include sake classes and miso soup from Ebi.
