Wahlburgers has always had expansion on the mind; run by Paul Wahlberg and backed by celeb brothers Donnie and Mark, the Hingham-based burger joint has been considering adding 10 to 15 Boston-area locations in the next few years. But of all places, Toronto's getting the first expansion.
A press release indicates that it'll open in early 2014 at The SoHo Metropolitan, a "luxury boutique hotel." The Boston Business Journal reports that Mark recently bought a $12 million condo nearby, but that's not the reason for the choice of location — a Canadian banker, an early investor in the restaurant, set up the deal. The menu will be the same.
