Mario Batali Is Not Coming to Boston (Yet)

Is there trouble in paradise for the upcoming Mario Batali project in Fort Point, Babbo Pizzeria e Enoteca? Perhaps. On Saturday, Batali responded to a tweet asking about an opening date with "Not looking good right now, ill keep you posted." A rep for the company has not yet replied to a query on the restaurant's status.

UPDATE: Batali released a statement on his Tumblr saying that the project is officially done. "B&B Hospitality Group is saddened to announce that the project called Babbo Pizzeria and Enoteca originally slated for a fourth quarter open date in the exciting Fort Point district in Boston will not come to fruition. We will continue to look for the perfect location to serve the exciting and vibrant Boston community."
