News is already out that Tavern in the Square is planning on building a free-standing outpost within South Station, featuring "over 30 draft beers, full liquor menu, state of the art flat screen TVs, and a creative menu," but now it looks like it could be coming to North Station as well. Based on a brief North Station mention in an article in The Northborough-Southborough Villager about the Tavern's Northborough expansion, Boston Restaurant Talk surmises that the restaurant could open another small version, like the upcoming South Station one, in North Station's food court.

Tavern in the Square currently has locations in Allston, Burlington, Cambridge's Central Square and Porter Square, and Salem. A Newton Centre restaurant called Union Street is also part of the chain.
