Gypsy Bar Could Become Whisky Saigon

Photo: Official Site

Gypsy Bar, a "sleek luxurious" night club on the Common edge of the Theatre District, is apparently looking to change its name to Whisky Saigon, according to the agenda for tomorrow's Licensing Board hearing. A representative for Gypsy Bar could not immediately be reached for comment regarding the change — and whether other changes are also in store — and the club's social media accounts don't mention anything about it.

As for the significance of the name, perhaps it's an homage to a shuttered Toronto club of the same name. No other uses of the phrase turn up in Google's widely-reaching Internet claws. Hit up the tipline or leave a comment below if you've got any intel on the future of Gypsy Bar.

UPDATE: A representative for Gypsy Bar tells Eater that it is "too soon to chat about the name change." Stay tuned for more info.
