Not to be confused with Yo! Sushi, a place called Yoi is apparently "coming soon" to Massachusetts Ave., next to West Side Lounge (and a door down from Giulia) between Harvard and Porter. The space (1678 Mass. Ave) was previously a location of the Harvard COOP as well as a Harvard Credit Union.
The licensing paperwork on the window names the applicant as Tianearn Corporation, who put in a beer and wine license application for the same address back in April under the restaurant name Spice & Noodle, with a seating capacity of 76 and hours from 11am to 11pm. Owner Nuanchan Jitjaruek appeared at the April hearing; she also owns Spice Thai in Harvard Square.
At the hearing, Jitjaruek stated that Spice & Noodle — now apparently Yoi — would focus on Japanese food, specifically sushi and noodles, and would be "healthier" and "something different" than Spice Thai.
It's unclear when the change of name came about and when the restaurant might open.
