Avila's closure is the Columbus Hospitality Group's gain. The group — which currently operates restaurants Mistral, Teatro, Mooo, Sorellina, and L'Andana (plus two hotels) — will open Columbus Fish & Oyster, an "upscale seafood concept," in the recently vacated Charles St. space, a rep tells Eater. Mistral's Mitchell Randall will be executive chef with chef/owner Jamie Mammano. Randall has been at Mistral since 2005, where he began as sous chef and later became the Columbus Hospitality Group's youngest executive chef at 25. The new restaurant is set to open this fall.
