Central Square Is the Center of the Dumpling Universe

Patty Chen's Dumpling Room, as previously reported, will open soon. Replacing the lengendarily named Pu Pu Hot Pot, the Dumpling Room will bless Central Square with a variety of pan-Asian dumplings, plus Nutella dumplings. Meanwhile, Boston Restaurant Talk reports that a place called Dumpling House is also planning to open in Central Square, a 13-minute jaunt down Massachusetts Ave. from the Dumpling Room. According to an agenda from a license hearing, the House will be a 96-seat restaurant open daily for lunch and dinner, and it has applied for a beer and wine license. With the opening of the Room fairly imminent and the House on the way after that, stay tuned for more breaking dumpling news.
