"As far as greasy spoons go, I'm an old fan of the Mass Ave Diner in Cambridge. Spent many Sunday mornings at their bar nursing a hangover. I usually order the huevos rancheros or the gallo pinto — it's rice and beans with two eggs, queso fresco, usually a tortilla, and plantains.
One of my top sandwich places in town has got to be Michael's Deli. On top of the best Reuben in town they have a killer corned beef club. I order it with chips and wash it all down with a root beer. Their corned beef has more fat and is just better tasting than some of the other shops around." — Marcos Sanchez, executive chef of Tres Gatos in Jamaica Plain, on his favorite greasy spoons.
