Where Will Tasty Burger Appear Next?

The Tasty Burger empire appears to be plotting even more expansion. The three-year-old burger joint now has three locations — the original restaurant in Fenway, a takeout stand in Southie, and another sit-down spot in Harvard Square, open until 4am. A Central Square location is working towards a fall opening, and it's rumored to be slated for 74 Prospect Street, where one location of Lyndell's Bakery currently resides, so that brings the total Tasty number up to four.

Curiously, a Craigslist post from the burger team seeks "an enthusiastic, organized, responsible Area Standards Manager to oversee the our Teams in 3-5 stores" and notes that there are "new restaurants in the planning stage." Where might the burger purveyor pop up next? Way back in 2011, owner David DuBois had apparently been eyeing Mattapan, Roxbury, and Somerville, so maybe something could materialize in one of those areas. Meanwhile, NY-based burger monster Shake Shack is blustering loudly onto the scene, making it clear that the new Chestnut Hill location is just the beginning. The next Shack might even open in Harvard Square, barely a block from Tasty Burger. Is any part of Boston still a burger-free Wild West ready to be claimed, or is the city destined to have more burgers than Dunkies in the not-so-distant future?
