Allston's Common Ground Bar & Grill could open a new location in Arlington later this summer ("fingers crossed" for a month from now, according to the restaurant's Twitter account). The 16-year-old Allston restaurant came under new ownership a couple years ago, revamping its menu and adding lots of locally sourced ingredients and beers. In addition to the comfort food menu (brisket turnovers, disco fries, buffalo mac & cheese), Allston revelers seem to enjoy cocktails on the hidden back patio as well as events like '90s dance night.

An Arlington address hasn't been announced yet, but Boston.com's Restaurant Hub blog points out that an Italian restaurant, Gemma, recently vacated the town center, while a Panera closed in Arlington Heights, so those could be possibilities. The Arlington Patch reports that the restaurant hadn't yet applied for an operating license as of Tuesday.
