Arc Nightclub & Lounge Opens Thursday

New, 2 comments

Arc Nightclub & Lounge, the presumed replacement for shuttered Fenway bar An Tua Nua, opens this Thursday, according to its Facebook page. The club is being coy about its location, listing it only as "Back Bay" and responding to a question about the address with "All will be revealed momentarily..." But as previously reported, An Tua Nua went before the Boston Licensing Board to apply for a name change to Arc — with a compass logo — in order to attract more bookish types.

The compass logo, an apparently simplified version of the Masonic Square and Compass, has been revealed in all its glory on Arc's Facebook page and website, so there's hardly a doubt that this is in fact the same Arc, despite the Fenway/Back Bay discrepancy. Further evidence that this is the former An Tua Nua space (and ownership): Ceremony Boston, a regular industrial/goth night that used to take place at An Tua Nua, is picking right back up at Arc next week.

UPDATE: Arc has postponed its opening due to "unforeseen circumstances," but it has now announced its address. As expected, it's in the former An Tua Nua space.
