Wonderfully divey Brighton bar Hogan's Run is closing and reopening under new ownership, reports Universal Hub. Incoming owner Francis Thomas plans to change the name to Lincoln Bar and Grill, add some more food to the menu, and change the tiny windows into legitimate windows, but no other major changes are in store. A closing date for Hogan's Run hasn't been announced yet, and the bar's most recent Facebook post, from June 8th, offers a cash reward for information on an assault inside the bar, which seems to be in line with its reputation. "Voted most likely bar to see a fight in Boston," writes one Yelper. Another writes: "I think my Hogan's experience is best summed up by what my friend said to me when he took me there: 'Let me show you the secret cubby hole where you can hide when the fist fights get going.'" Here's hoping the new incarnation has a less punchy vibe.
UPDATE: Lincoln Bar and Grill is not to be confused with Lincoln Tavern and Restaurant, a decidedly non-divey hotspot in Southie.
