Tony Maws' upcoming restaurant, The Kirkland Tap & Trotter, is another step closer to opening with the announcement of an upcoming job fair for all positions. The 5400-square-foot space, which will seat at least 115, is located near the Cambridge/Somerville line outside of Harvard and Inman Square, joining Dali, Bergamot, Savenor's, and others at the food-packed intersection of Kirkland St., Beacon St., and Washington St. The new restaurant "will neither be a copy nor replacement" of Maws' Craigie on Main, but rather a "cousin to Craigie with phenomenal ingredients, terrific flavors, superior service in a simpler, more rustic setting and at a lower price point (swooshes and dots not required.)" Previous reports indicate entrees in the mid-$20s and appetizers in the mid-teens. While the famous Craigie burger itself won't make an appearance, there will be plenty of "funky and ever-changing variations on the burger" - and possibly a signature hot dog. The Kirkland Tap & Trotter is working towards a summer opening, and it will serve dinner seven nights a week, plus weekend brunch.
