The apparent closure of An Tua Nua brought forth a flood of drunken memories from Eater commenters last week, tales of college years and freakum dresses and broken glass. But patrons of the Fenway bar can wipe their beer-filled tears away: An Tua Nua is not really going away. It's simply reopening under a new name, Arc, reports Universal Hub. No major changes are planned for the food, drinks, or staff, according to the bar's attorney, who went before the Boston Licensing Board today regarding the name change. The name (which will be adorned with a compass in the bar's logo) is meant to attract science nerds in an apparent attempt to change the bar's image. Hey, science nerds can wear freakum dresses too. No word yet on whether Arc will continue An Tua Nua's meatball menu. Might be too messy for math lovers.

UPDATE: Several tipsters have indicated that way back in the day, the bar was called The Ark, so the new name might also be an homage to those days.
