Seasonal Charlestown restaurant Tavern on the Water closed for good over the winter, but a new restaurant called Pier 6 is slated to open in the coveted waterfront space, reports Boston Restaurant Talk. Greg Reeves, who formerly worked as the executive chef at Green Street in Central Square, will helm the kitchen at Pier 6, which might open as early as next month but more likely in the fall. Owner Charles Larner, who also owns Mija Cantina and Tequila Bar at Fanueil Hall, told the Charlestown Neighborhood Council's Basic Services Committee last month that he envisioned a menu focusing on seafood and American cuisine with the possibility of outdoor grilling, pending neighborhood approval.
