El Centro Comes to Brookline Village This Friday

Photo: Melissa Ostrow/UrbanDaddy

South End Mexican spot El Centro opens its new Brookline Village location this Friday, UrbanDaddy reports. With a new location comes new treats, so be prepared for never-before-seen watermelon margarita pitchers and Mexican classics served in molcajetes carved out of volcanic rock. Much of the decor comes from artwork and furniture acquired by chef-owner Allan Rodriguez on his Mexican travels, where he also replenished his recipe collection with contributions from "local culinary legends." Dishes from the Mexican state of Sonora will be particularly featured on the menu. Rodriguez apparently has an affinity for cities beginning in the letter "B" and is already working on opening a third location, this time in Belmont.
