International upscale steakhouse chain The Palm reopens next week at One International Place in the Financial District after disappearing from Boston for several months. Previously, it could be found at the Westin Copley Place in Back Bay. Now, following a $4.5 million renovation that created the new space, it returns. A representative for the restaurant says May 16 is opening day, though the company itself has said May 11: stay tuned for confirmation. The new The Palm features views of the Greenway and a big patio. Here again is the menu, which the restaurant's website says is devoid of "overly elaborate recipes or culinary fads." So don't expect much liquid nitrogen. Legal Sea Foods alum Karen Mitchell serves as executive chef.
