New Chef for Silvertone; Forum Fundraiser Preview

DOWNTOWN - A chef shuffle for the Silvertone Bar & Grill: the venue posted to Facebook today saying "Bittersweet...sad to see Chef Jason Santana leave us, but excited for the opportunity to work with Chef Brendan Wood." [Facebook]

CAMBRIDGE - Apparently Porter Square ramen darling YumeWoKatare now has a CD. Japanese-American in Boston notes that the tracks are named for other restaurants run by the shop's owner. For instance, Omoshiroi Houhe, or "Destination: Fun." [Official Site]

BACK BAY/SOUTH END - As Forum prepares to reopen this summer following a temporary closure caused by the bombing of the Boston Marathon, new chef Matthew Barros will be hosting a series of test dinners introducing menu items. The series, called Forum for One, will benefit The One Fund, which helps victims of the attack. Up first: Friday, May 17, at the former Noche space at 3 Appleton St in the South End. Doors open at 6:30PM. Tickets are $75 for a multi-course meal: call 617.716.9086 or email efleming@forumboston.com. [Official Site]

JP/EVERETT - J.P. Licks is primarily known for its ice cream, but the local chain also roasts its own coffee. Now, some of that coffee - the Ethiopian Harrar - will be used in a white stout from Night Shift Brewing. See here for a look at the label. [Official Site]
