The West Roxbury location of local pizza chain The Upper Crust did not close on April 28, as it previously said it would. And it's not closed now. Which means that it's open. The pizzeria will remain open "until at least June," says the West Roxbury Patch, which confirms that "another unknown restaurant" will move in after that. On Facebook, the owners said "Some may consider it 'Faking our Death' because we will be staying open longer than anticipated... however, what an outpouring of support!" This four-year-old Upper Crust, which is a franchise, is one of few that remain, after the corporation that owned most locations declared bankruptcy and then shuttered several of its locations. In a prior note, the restaurant described the occasion of its closing as "bittersweet" and noted that the staff was "looking forward to the new restaurant that will be opening soon at our location." Just not as soon as it seemed.
