Rox Cafe, the third restaurant from the owners of the Rox Diner restaurants in West Roxbury and Newtonville, will be opening in Newton Highlands at the end of June, according to a Craigslist job post noticed by Boston Restaurant Talk. The restaurant will have both a bar and a takeout section, and according to the Boston Globe, the menu will "be narrower but also more experimental" than at the Rox Diners. It will be open for three meals a day, seven days a week. Local business owners should be relieved as the 3,800 square foot anchor-tenant Lincoln St. space has remained unoccupied since Bakers' Best closed their retail operation in December 2011 to focus on catering after nearly 30 years in business.
