A Possible Momogoose Brick and Mortar Address

A possible address for the upcoming brick and mortar from local food truck Momogoose has emerged: 89 South Street. Boston Hospitality and Tourism Industry Blog shares that detail, saying the truck is going before the board this week for a license at that address, with proposed hours of 10AM to 3PM Monday through Friday. The truck previously said to expect the venue to be in the vicinity of South Station, which this is. Prior reports also suggest that the restaurant will not share the same name as the truck and will serve noodle bowls, pho and dumplings, which isn't a world apart from the existing menu of ramen, pho, rice bowls, salads, and banh mi-like sandwiches. The truck's lineage includes the East Cambridge restaurant Poppa and Goose, so perhaps the name of the new venue will involve yet another iteration of some kind of goose.

If this trajectory sounds familiar, it's because several Boston area food trucks have transitioned to brick and mortars or are in the process of doing so. As local journalist Luke O'Neil recently tweeted, "food trucks were always just demo mixtapes for proper restaurant album deals."
