Forum Preview Menu; Big Wines at Bistro du Midi

BACK BAY/SOUTH END - Forum shares additional details for its upcoming dinner series at the former Noche that will serve a dual purpose: a test of menu items by new chef Matt Barros and a fundraiser for The One Fund. Forum is the only restaurant still closed in the wake of the attack on the Boston Marathon and plans to reopen this summer; see below for more info on the dinners and for the event's menu. BROOKLINE - The Beacon Street location of butcher shop The Meat House is closing on June 2, says Boston Restaurant Talk. Three other regional locations will remain. [BRT]

BACK BAY - Bistro du Midi has enhanced its wine selection with more large format selections. For instance: a 2011 Jean-Luc Colombo, Cape Bleue Rose in a three liter Jeraboam and a 2011 Mas de Daumas Gassac Rouge, in a nine liter Salmanazar. Here's a pdf of the current list. [Official Site]

KENMORE - The Lower Depths is hosting an event with Bukowski Tavern to benefit friend Karen Rand, who lost her lower leg in the marathon bombing, called The Lower Leg. A $20 donation gets you three drink passes and passed hors d'œuvres, plus there's a raffle. Sunday, May 19, 1PM. [DigBoston]
