Fiouna's Persian Fusion Cuisine Now Open

Fiouna's Persion Fusion Cuisine from the owners of Fiouna Catering of Newton is now open in the space formerly known as Umi Japanese Cuisine and Sushi Bar, on Peterborough Street in Fenway. The neighboring El Pelon Taqueria reports an estimated opening of last Wednesday, May 7, and shares the adjacent photo via Twitter. The restaurant's website says to expect "brand new dishes and all of your old favorites," which helps account for the fusion aspect, and judging from the photo there's a handful of patio seats. The enterprise has its roots in a catering company that began in Tehran before its owners opened shop in Newton.
