Here's Hit Wicket, Boston's First Cricket-Themed Bar

Hit Wicket will soon be the first bar in the Boston area to focus on cricket (sport, not insect) as its theme. In fact, according to the restaurant, it will be the first of its kind in the entire country: how the United States got this far without a pub based on the internationally beloved, wide-batted sport is a mystery. The Inman Square venue says to expect an opening during the week of May 20, at which point Hit Wicket will start serving dishes inspired by the street foods of the many countries in which cricket enjoys popularity. That includes Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, England, South Africa, and the West Indies, which could make this Boston's most wide-reaching menu, nationality-wise. Also, there will be beer, wine and cocktails. Hit Wicket resides in the former home of Spice & Rice: check out the gallery for a sneak peek inside the nearly completed interior.
