A representative for Mario Batali confirms that the legendary chef is indeed opening his first Boston restaurant. Batali himself tweeted that news last November - writing "Babbopizzeria! Wheeeeeeeeee" - when a follower asked if he was Boston-bound, and now Batali's rep says that the chef/restaurateur/
cookbook author is once again teaming up with restaurateur Joe Bastianich to open Babbo Pizzeria e Enoteca in Fort Point, at 320 Summer Street, as reported earlier, though the entrance will be on A Street. Batali and Bastianich have previously collaborated on Eataly locations in New York and Chicago and are rumored to have a Vegas venue in the works as well. The Boston restaurant will serve wood-fired brick oven pizza, making it "Unlike our group's New York City flagship," plus pasta, antipasta, and gelati. Obligatory note about Fort Point being an increasingly hot restaurant destination these days. Stay tuned!
