SOMERVILE - The second annual Hyper-Local Craft Brewfest is coming to The Armory in Somerville on June 14 and 15. The fest kicks off with a homebrew showcase on the 14th, followed by two separate tasting sessions on the 15th. Tickets are $35 per session with a limited number of "date night" couples' discounts available. Confirmed vendors include Blue Hill Brewery, Cambridge Brewing Co., Clown Shoes, Idle Hands Craft Ales, and more. [Eventbrite]
FENWAY - Missed out on Bacon and Beer Fest tickets? Yep, they're sold out already, but you're in luck...if you want to pay scalpers an obscene mark-up. 60 tickets have appeared on StubHub, ranging from $100 all the way up to $400. Let's hope these sellers are giving back a hefty donation to the charities involved in the event - Lovin' Spoonfuls and Community Servings. If not, well, hopefully there's a special bacon-less section of hell. [StubHub]
SOUTH END - Boston Spirit Magazine's blog on Boston.com calls out Barstool Sports Boston for writing a "homophobic rant" about Boston Chops, which recently celebrated its grand opening with a party that involved men in skimpy cowboy attire. "A gay steakhouse in the South End?" wrote elpresidente on Barstool Sports. "Umm that's got to be the dumbest thing I've ever heard. I mean everybody knows gays don't eat meat. Like aren't 80% of gayballs vegetarians? Looking all slender and shit." Boston Spirits' rating of the post: "As homophobic rants go, this one is pretty weak and not particularly original."
