Genki Ya Expanding to The Theater District

A fourth location of sushi restaurant Genki Ya is headed for the Theater District, and Boston Hospitality & Tourism Industry Blog has the photographic evidence to prove it. The 232 Tremont Street location is the former home of Shanghai Restaurant Bar & Lounge and is just a stone's throw from Montien, which is predominantly Thai but also serves sushi. Throw a stone a litte further and you hit Chinatown. Genki Ya has existing locations Cambridge, Dedham and Brookline, where the company was begat. The restaurants focus on organic ingredients, with sushi filler options including brown rice and a multigrain blend, which contains a grain called Job's tears. Biblical crying aside, the menu is comparable to others in town, from shumai to specialty rolls and udon to mochi ice cream.
