Gyu-Kaku Soft-Opens in Brookline

Photo: Facebook/Gyu-Kaku Boston

What was formerly Ginza on Beacon Street in Brookline is now Gyu-Kaku, an outpost of the Japan-based international chain with over 700 locations around the world. What appears to be the newest Gyu-Kaku on the planet has 130 seats and specializes in yakiniku, in which patrons do their own grilling at the table. The restaurant soft-opened on April 13 with limited hours and is now serving dinner from 5PM to 9PM. An employee tells Eater that longer hours will go into effect soon. See below for the full menu, which includes dishes like hot oil seared salmon in citrus sauce and sides along the lines of "addicting cabbage." Also, ramen. For some up close and personal shots of yakiniku, check out the early review on local food blog BunnyandPorkBelly.
