Amsterdam Cafe in the South End has its windows covered and "appears to have closed for good" according to a tipster. The cafe is not answering its phone during regular hours, and the Amsterdam Cafe in South Boston - no relation - says that the South End restaurant has indeed closed. The Columbus Ave restaurant served breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week and featured loosely Netherlands-themed dishes like the "Going Dutch," aka a tuna melt, to the not-at-all-Netherlands-themed, like a buffalo chicken wrap. Know more about the fate of Amsterdam Cafe? Send any updates to the tipline. And once again, just to clarify, the unrelated but identically named Amsterdam Cafe in South Boston remains open.
