The South End's El Centro will open a second location, called, appropriately, El Centro Dos, in Brookline later this very month. Chef-owner Allan Rodriguez shares a statement with the press, saying "The Boston area has a lot of quote un-quote authentic Mexican restaurants, but they aren't the type of restaurants you find in Mexico." Not so with El Centro, he says. In his new space, expect artwork, decor and furniture personally acquired by Rodriguez on his travels throughout Mexico. But that's not the only import: Rodriguez also says he's been busy collecting recipes from "local culinary legends" throughout his native country. As with the original El Centro, dishes from the state of Sonora will be a theme. El Centro Dos will serve lunch and dinner Monday through Friday from 11:30AM to 10:00PM plus brunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday from 9:00AM to 10:00PM. But what will it serve?
