Restaurant Week Ups The Tab; Literarily Drinking

HUB-WIDE - In past years, Boston's Restaurant Week(s) have aimed to keep prices low - sometimes to the grievance of chefs - with costs to customers rising but one cent each year. For dinner at participating venues during the upcoming spring Restaurant Week(s), from March 17 to 22 and 24 to 29, the price will jump $5.01, to $38.13, says the Herald. A two-course lunches will run $15.13 and a three-course lunch clocks in at $20.13. [BH, BG]

DOWNTOWN/SOUTH SHORE - Rifle through the belongings of Big Night Entertainment Group chef Kevin Long (Empire, Red Lantern, Gem) thanks to a new installment of "The Kitchen Spy" from Chowder. Fun fact: the word "butter" shows up five times. [C]

BACK BAY/JP/CAMBRIDGE/ROXBURY/DORCHESTER - Local drink writer/drink drinker Luke O'Neil corrals a bunch of area bars with literary history and/or potential. On the list: Galway House, Darryl's, First Printer and more. [The Phoenix]
