Tavern in the Square to Add Two New Taverns

The five-location Tavern in the Square restaurant group is planning on adding two new locations somewhere in the "Boston area" in "late summer," according to a CraigsList post seeking managers. The restaurant/sports bar is currently located in Allston, Burlington, Central Square and Porter Square in Cambridge, and Salem, and the large menu features plenty of pub standards, from wings and nachos to burgers and flatbreads. Plus: endless HD TVs, margaritas by the pitcher, fried Snickers and Butterfinger creme brulee, and plenty of college students and sports fans.

Meanwhile, the group's sister restaurant in Newton Centre, Union Street, has just reopened after about a month and a half of renovations and now has a new chef, new menu, and new beer list.
