The future of longtime Boylston street restaurant and bar Remington's is secure for a bit longer: it's been granted a three-month lease extension by Emerson College, which owns the building occupied by the venue, says the Boston Business Journal. That puts the expected closing in June, though the BBJ notes that Remington's owner Joe Doherty hopes to stay longer in his current space. After looking elsewhere, he concluded that "Boston's crazy with the rents." The article doesn't mention the fate of Dick Doherty's Beantown Comedy Vault, which shares the same building, and the club, which also has two locations in the burbs, has yet to respond to a request for details about its plans. Stay tuned for more details and share any of your own via the tipline.
Update: Dick Doherty's Beantown Comedy Vault will stay open through June as well, says Boston Restaurant Talk. [BRT]
